Sending Hearts with January's Paper Pumpkin Kit

The focus of the January Paper Pumpkin kit is hearts and Valentines.

This month's kit contains enough supplies to create eight standard A2-size cards and envelopes, four cards in each of two designs. The colors are Basic Black, gold, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate, and white.

As always, the cost for one month's Paper Pumpkin kit is $22 which includes stamps, a mini ink pad, cards, die cuts, envelopes, embellishments, adhesives and postage.

When you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator, I will also send you an idea sheet each month with alternative card ideas to make with that month's Paper Pumpkin kit.

  • The Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin Kit may be ordered until January 10, but don't wait - when they're gone, they're gone!
  • And for those of us who enjoy giving Valentine's gifts, there is an add-on kit called Little Love Boxes, available starting January 1 and while supplies last. (You can see the Little Love Boxes in the picture above.) The add-on kit contains 20 printed mini boxes and 24 die-cut decorative pieces and sentiment labels.

A Fancy Fold Card for You

One benefit I enjoy as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is being part of an active team of demonstrators, and one benefit of our team is the opportunity to be in monthly card swaps.

The theme of the December 2020 swap is winter cards. Each person taking part in the swap can design with the stamps, colors, embellishments and styles of their choice as long as it fits the theme.

When I received this fancy fold card from the December swap, I had to try making one of my own, and it's so easy and pretty that I want to share the directions with you. If you use this pattern to make a card yourself, please take a picture and share it here in the comments or on my JForStamping Facebook page.

Here is what the card looks like when opened -

And here's how I made my version -

Supplies needed:

                 Card base 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches, score at 1 1/2, 4 1/4

Cardstock same color as card base 5 1/4 by 2 1/2 inches, embossed
               Cardstock in contrasting color -
                     5 3/8 by 2 7/8 inches,
                     5 3/8 by 1 1/8 inches,
                     5 3/8 by 2 1/8 inches,
                     5 3/8 by 1 3/4 inches
Scrap to die cut for mat under the word piece
               Whisper White 5 1/4 by 1 5/8 inches,
plus scrap to stamp words and die-cut
Designer Series Paper piece 5 1/4 high by 5 3/4 inches wide

Trim the DSP to these widths from left to right: 2 3/4 inches,
                            1 inch, 2 inches
               Coordinating ribbon and embellishments

Glue the strips of Designer Series Paper to the corresponding sizes of mats.

Glue the embossed piece to the left side of the card front. Then fold the 1 1/2 inch flap on the score line to partially cover the embossed piece. Apply glue to the top side of the flap when folded open and glue the widest piece of DSP with its mat to the card front, lining up the right edge so there is a thin margin of the card inside showing around the mat.

Open the card and glue the rest of the matted pieces in the order shown in the photo below.

Tie the ribbon around the left side of the card.

Glue the die cut word piece to the mat and then to the card front, being careful to leave the flap with the DSP so it can move.

Decorate with embellishments as desired.    Let me know what you think of this design!

Happy Stampin!

Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock to be Discontinued; New Basic White Cardstock to Replace It

This surprise announcement came from Stampin' Up! Headquarters today:
"Whisper White has been a Stampin’ Up! staple for so long. We love it and we know you love it, too. We are sad to announce that the supplier’s mill producing our Whisper White cardstock has permanently closed due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, we weren’t given much notice on this closure. This means that the technology unique to this particular supplier is now unavailable to us and we can no longer offer our Whisper White cardstock and related products, such as Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. Please note that this won’t affect any of our other cardstocks, this only affects Whisper White.
We know Whisper White has a huge fan base; we’re big fans, too! And we are crushed that it’s going away. Even though this decision was out of our hands, rest assured that we jumped right into action to find the best replacement paper possible. We have dedicated many hours to source and test alternative cardstock options from several suppliers to find the perfect fit that still maintains the Stampin’ Up! quality you know and trust. We are happy to share that we have found a winner for our new cardstock, Basic White!
The quality of our new Basic White was thoroughly tested by our quality assurance and product teams. It also tested very well with demonstrators and concept artists who gave it a huge thumbs up. We believe in the quality of the new Basic White cardstock and we know it will become your new crafting staple!
What does this mean for you?
With Whisper White going out of production, this means a number of Whisper White products will be affected.  Below is a list of all products that will be replaced with our new Basic White cardstock. These items are now available while supplies last with an order limit of 2 per item per order.
  • Whisper White 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Cardstock (124302)
  • Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (149710)
  • Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes (131527)
  • Whisper White 3" x 3" (7.6 x 7.6 cm) Envelopes (145829)
  • Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock (100730)
  • Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Thick Cardstock (140272)
  • Whisper White Medium Envelopes (107301)
Our new Basic White products will become available to purchase as soon as we have them in stock. This means that some Whisper White and Basic White products may be available at the same time. Additionally, due to the nature of sourcing, some Basic White products may not be available before the Whisper White products sell out. Please know that we are working on getting these products available to you as fast as possible.
Since this change is outside our control, we haven’t been able to tackle all necessary alterations at once. You may still see the name Whisper White on some of our non-cardstock product labels, catalog, and marketing material for a while. We will be working on a rolling change to address this.
While we expect this to come as quite a surprise, we hope that this transition to our new Basic White products can be an exciting change for everyone! To help soothe any nerves about this change, we want to provide as much information as possible to help you get the word out about our new Basic White cardstock.
We have a video message addressing some potential concerns that you may have. This video goes over a comparison of Whisper White to Basic White so you will know what to expect with this change. You can watch the video here
It’s always hard to say goodbye, but we are excited about the new Basic White product line and we encourage you to try it out! We are confident that you’ll love it just as much as we do."

If you would like to order any of the Whisper White products while they are available, this link  will take you to my online store.

If you have any questions about this change, feel free to contact me and I'll help in any way I can.

In the meantime, we still have the Very Vanilla cardstock and envelopes to use as a neutral color for stamping images and greetings on our cards!

Happy Stampin!

Posted For You

Welcome to December! I don't know about your part of the world, but here in Central Wisconsin we are enjoying a prolonged autumn season with beautiful sunny weather. I'm not complaining!

Today I have some cards for you featuring a stamp set and punch that are made to work together. It's the Posted For You stamp set. The punch works with the stamped images to make them look like postage stamps on your hand-crafted cards and projects. Let me know what you think of these cards created by us for the talented artists at Stampin' Up!

Here's what the stamps and punch look like:

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stampin!
