Saturday UFO Sighting

UFOs ???

No, we're not talking about flying saucers from outer space - in crafting (and maybe elsewhere), U.F.O. stands for Un-Finished Objects. You know, those projects that you start, but then life, or another project, interferes and they just sit there.

Well, thanks to a friend's request for some hand-stamped cards, I was motivated on Saturday to dig out some of my UFOs and actually finish them.  The picture above shows all 16 cards with their coordinating envelopes.

Read on for individual pictures and info about the products I used. Most of the stamped greetings are from past Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin kits.

On the next 4 cards, the brightly colored printed papers are from a long-retired Stampin' Up! card kit. The "Note of Thanks" greeting is part of the Sending Smiles stamp set that is still available.

The next 3 photos show cards made from the May 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin' Up!, which introduced the 2022-2024 In Color selection. The first photo shows the Orchid Oasis color.

The color on the next 2 cards is called Starry Sky.

This lovely color has a lovely name: Tahitian Tide.

And here, just for "pun", are 2 cards made from the Paper Pumpkin kit of that name :-)

The final 2 photos show cards made with the Tea Boutique Designer Series Papers and Tea Boutique Memories and More Cards and Envelopes.

Thanks for looking!

Cards from my Guest Artist, Diana Laabs, Part 2

Here, as promised, are the rest of the cards I received yesterday from my friend Diana.

She was inspired to make this first card by a card kit that I sent to her recently. First, Diana's card. I wish you could see it in person to see and feel the texture on the cardstock from Diana's used of a hybrid embossing folder. The folder is from the Sweet Citrus group of products.

And here is Diana's inspiration, the Cozy and Bright Kit, which you can find here in the Stampin' Up! Kits Collection, only available online. Don't you agree that she did a super job of capturing the look and feel of the original!

And here is another Sweet Citrus card. I love the bright colors.

This last card uses the Splendid Thoughts stamp set - classic!

Thanks for looking, and Happy Stampin!

Cards from my Guest Artist, Diana Laabs, Part 1

Today I'd like to introduce you to my long-time stamping friend Diana Laabs. We live about 80 miles apart from each other and don't get together as often as we would like, but when we do get together, we exchange hand-stamped cards.

We met for coffee this morning in Wautoma, Wis., enjoyed a long visit. Diana gave me this beautiful assortment of cards, which I want to share with you. Doesn't she do great work?  Thank you, Diana, for these cards and for your precious friendship.

These first 2 cards feature the Adorable Owls stamp set which is available only until February 28, 2023. The set is part of Stampin' Up's Sale-A-Bration, which means you can get it free with a $50 purchase of current Stampin' Up! products.

The card on the left shows the currently popular Twisted Ribbon technique.

This cheerful Thank You card was made with the Tea Boutique suite of products from the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. I especially like the set of Designer Series Paper you see here, so fun!

This card was made with the retired Open Sea stamp set. I'm glad to have another masculine birthday card on hand.

Watch for my post tomorrow to see the rest of the cards Diana made - they are great!

If you don't have the Stampin' Up! catalogs mentioned above, send me an email with your phone number and mailing address and I will get some to you. The address is janstamps3681@gmail.com

Happy Stampin!

Arborwood Cards for January

Hi Stampin' Friend, and welcome to 2023!

Here are the cards for my Arborwood assisted living class this week. I found this specialty paper on the Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack and thought the deep, rich colors are just right for a winter card.

The paper lattice in retired Cinnamon Cider color was also a Clearance Rack find. If you like paper crafting bargains, check it out at https://www.stampinup.com/categories/sales-specials/clearance
