Hi Stampin' Friend!

I made another foray into the UFO (Un-Finished Objects) box to fulfill a request for some Thank You cards.

The layout for the tea cup card above came from TX Stampin' Sharon's Mystery Monday stamping. It's a great template for using up scraps of designer series papers.

The next two cards use Memories and More scrapbooking products from the Enjoy the Adventure set.

The last two cards use Designer Series Papers that are just old enough that I can't remember their names, sorry!

These layouts are fairly simple and very versatile when you need a quick card.

Mid Summer Cards

 

Hi Stampin' Friends,

This picture has nothing to do with stamping but it makes me smile - this is at the campground where we spend much of our summer.

But on to the cards. I made this first card to honor our pastor on his 30 year anniversary of pastoring Fatih Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. That's quite an accomplishment. Congratulations, Pastor Steve Steinmetz!

Then on a day when I had some time to spare, I dug into the UFO (Un-Finished Objects) box again. Two matching pieces of Designer Series Paper inspired me to create this birthday day. I think this color combo is so pleasing!

I am working on the July 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit now, with it's fun beach-themed images. Watch for my post with the kit cards made according to directions, as well as some alternative designs.

The Happy Birthday card above features a stamp from the retired Hand Penned Petals stamps set and dies from Border Basics, Penned Petals, and Wanted to Say die sets.

"Thank You" card - words from Peaceful Moments (retired), Double Oval punch, border die from Gone FIshing dies

"With Deepest Sympathy" card - word stamps from Peaceful Moments stamp set (retired,), wave stamp from Waves of Inspiration stamp set, bird stamp from Set Sail stamps (retired)

Revisiting the One Sheet Wonder

Do you remember the One Sheet Wonder concept?  You select a full sheet of patterned paper and by carefully designed trimming and the addition of some coordinating cardstock, it goes from this

This week I came across a One Sheet Wonder design posted by Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Kristina Rees on her blog in May of 2017. (Don't ask me how I stumbled upon it - that's why I wrote down the details and I'm putting them here for future reference.)

Kristina said the design was not original with her, but she could not locate who first came up with it, so I'm not able to give that person credit either.

I was intrigued by the pattern, so I sifted through my Designer Series Papers and chose the sheet you see in the photo above, from the retired Waves of the Ocean set.

In under 2 hours, I had all 11 cards assembled, just waiting for the stamped images and words. Yesterday I finished each of the cards inside and out and they are now ready to use.
