I received a commission today to make a card of encouragement for a pastor recovering from heart surgery. The person who made the request would like to have multiple people sign the card, so I went with the 5 by 7 inch format. I looked at my stash of papers, stamp sets and dies and selected the Waves of Inspiration suite of products. This card turned out even nicer that I hoped for. How do you like it?
The March card class at Arborwood assisted living facility is coming up next week. The stampers there asked for more birthday cards, and in particular, a masculine birthday card. I stayed away from the flowery stamps and designed these 3 cards. I think my friends are going to enjoy them!
The first card uses word stamps from the Peaceful Moments and Nuts About Squirrels sets. All die cut shapes are from the Desert Details die set (I sure hope they carry it over into the next catalog!). I used the Banners Pick a Punch on the white word piece and the patterned paper is from a set called Enjoy the Journey.
I can't decide if this manly birthday card looks like a picture hanging on the wall or the view through a window. I used the blending brushes to create the background and stamps from the Grassy Grove set for ground, trees and deer. The frame was made with the nesting dies from the Stitched Rectangles set, and the word stamps and embossing folder are sadly retired.
The design for this card is copied from a layout in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog on page 179. The words are from the Sending Smiles stamp set and the die cuts are from the very versatile Basic Borders set. This happy patterned paper was a free item from Sale-A-Bration. I used a blending brush to color the "birthday wishes" piece before punching it with the Double Oval punch.
Happy Stampin!
